[1969] RE: Low Mileage 69 on E-bay -- follow-up to a really nice '69 4-sale

For anyone looking for the a VERY low mileage, very nice condition '69
Vair, as far as I know, fellow long time CORSA and Milwaukee Corvair
Club member Jerry Arnold (better part of 35 years in each, I don't go
quite that far back) still has the following car 4-sale:

- 500, 140, 3-speed, yes, you are reading that correctly
- #4692 (first week of April)
- frost green, repainted a long time ago
- green interior
- sub-90 miles
- owned since 1983
- base wheel covers, I don't remember if has a radio

Jerry is not on-line, and does not have the means to send electronic
photos, but I'm guessing could send some via snail mail, to the
proverbial "serious" buyer. He is asking serious dollars @ $16K. If
interested, please call Jerry at 414-453-4722, at a respectable central
time zone hour, and while there is no "commission" involved, please
mention my name.

#3753, 110-glide, white over frost green convertible, 1980-89

That device is an optional, additional air cleaner for dusty areas.
It's an
oil-bath type. I didn't know it was available on a '69, but I guess
they
were clearing out the parts bins.

Even if you assume the 'H' in the VIN is an '8', and come up with 0381
then
defer to the roster, 0381 is a 140/PG in NE.
In looking at the photos, it certainly has PG but the engine has two
carbs.
Has smog, but what is that canister device off the air cleaner all
about?
California emission?
Never bid or buy a car with less than 5 pictures over the internet,
(speaking from experience) LOL now, anyway.

The VIN number listed in the Q/A section of the ad makes no sense.
Also, in
looking at the pictures listed, some things look kind of rough for a
$12,000
car. The driver's side arm rest is missing, the weather stripping in
the
engine compartment looks chewed up, there are a few dings, and what is
that
stuff all over the front floor?

This may be one of those situations where low mileage does not
necessarily
mean great condition. Nice car though, just not worth 12k.
