Mark- We did the best we could w/out you, you were very much missed.
About twenty of us gathered inside the Santa Cruz building of the
Ventura County Fairgrounds on Tuesday evening, the 24th. Fortunately,
Larry Claypool dropped by, and he became our leader! He talked about
Cal Clark possibly reproducing late model, front "spoilers" (air dams),
w/ there having been at least two types leaving the Willow Run plant in
the '69 model run. The so-called "L" type vs. "S" type -- when Larry
gets back on line (o/a July 3rd), I'm sure he'll describe the difference
for us. Larry has asked that '69 owners provide him (I suggest to him
only, not the entire group) w/ the last four digits of their VIN, and
whether their spoiler is an "L" or "S," and if it appears to be
original. He will then provide the accumulated data to Cal Clark, for
his cost benefit analysis.

The "other Mark," as in Corbin, told those in attendance that he would
be happy to provide high quality, reproduction, '69 model window
stickers, reflecting how their cars were delivered, or how they are
today. These stickers would not include boiler plate (inaccurate)
reference to the '69 ignition interlock system. The cost is $25,
contact Mark, after this week.

Larry also mentioned that there are plans for a special '69 display at
next year's Convention in Jacksonville FL, July 20-24. A large
contingent of 69's is hoped for, to be displayed in VIN order!

I think there were about a half dozen '69 Vairs in Ventura, in the
concours, display or just lurking about, plus two "rough" models 4-sale
(as a pair) on a tilted trailer, I was not able to get their VINs. I
came back yesterday, attending on Monday and Tuesday only.

Mark E., we need you back next year...
