Jim,
Just to clear up any misunderstanding, there are two basic "rosters" that
folks have referred to as databases.

The first is simply the membership and mailing list. Eve sent it out to Ken
& Marvin shortly after Mark passed. If anyone needs it, Wade has that list.

The second is the roster of known '69s, which we started with the first
edition of our FTF book. This is quite a different list since it includes
all known cars, Mark's survey results, known previous owners and even '69s
sold in Canada which I uncovered in my research. It is backed up by hard
copy file folders for each car, in which Mark kept most of the information
on each car. This is the information that Eve wants to maintain and update,
and is proprietary to her and Mark. It doesn't "belong" to the '69 Group
though Mark shared the basic information freely in our FTF rosters and the
newsletter.

If for some reason Eve doesn't want to continue keeping up the roster of
'69s, then I'm sure that she'd be pleased to turn over everything to someone
qualified to maintain and update it. The main qualification is time,
followed by attention to detail and an ability to pursue the codes and
physical data for each car plus track down new owners as they come along.
It's more than enough of a job for one volunteer, though Mark could handle
it plus the newsletter as only HE could.

At that time I think the roster of 69s could become the property of the '69
Group, provided there IS one for it to belong to and that it has some
semblance of leadership.

Dave

Eve's taking steps to get the database workable and updated again. She's
made a lot of progress since she moved to Raleigh, NC where she has a very
good technical research job with a growing company. But she's still getting
settled in and I'm really proud of how she's adjusted to an all new
lifestyle. Not all the database should be accessible, since there's personal
information included, but I'm confident we'll be getting an updated roster
of '69s again. That's what counts...to know how many '69s are accounted for
and to add cars as we find them and update who owns them.

Mark and I corresponded in the year before he passed, for a number of
months shortly after I bought my 69. Back then I had offered to him to
keep the database updated. After his passing I made the same offer
again but I was informed that Eve wanted to hold onto that job, and
understandably so. But at the same time, if we are going to be viable,
we are going to need access to the database. It would be very
difficult for new leadership to start from scratch.

of my family. I decided not to run for office last December. I posted this
on the Group E-Mail list several times but know one responed or ran for the
office. Also Sarah Beltrami did not run for Vice-President leaving two
offices empty. Ed Thompson was the last Treasurer and Ken Amick was the
Newsletter Editor. I hope you understand why I am not involved with the
Group as I was in the past. Health is one reason but also I did not have a
roster or records like Mark did. Thank You for supporting me in the past.
