<CORSA Chapters> NECC: Corvairs at Waterford Hills Raceway

Every year, the Northeast Corvair Council (NECC) provides CORSA 
conventioneers with a great opportunity to drive their Corvairs on a 
real racetrack.

This year, nearly forty Corvair enthusiasts registered for NECC’s 
Waterford Hills Time Trials, which included open track sessions, time 
laps and a “Taste of the Track” program.  This unique event took place 
on Tuesday July 24th, the day before the opening of the 2007 CORSA 
Convention.

This event attracted a broad cross-section of Corvairs, ranging from 
pure stock to all-out competition cars. The Corvairs were remarkably 
reliable throughout the day, so we got lap times for lots of Corvairs. 
It was a nice smooth event.

Class winners included Bruce Carlton (COMP), Dan Konkle (SM), Mark 
Askemit (IS-3), John Gray (IS-4), Bob Coffin (SC-1), and Les Fransisco 
(WP). Less than 2 seconds separated the top six COMP class drivers!
