The idea behind the honorary membership was not that Jay could or couldn't afford the cost of membership. It was more for PR reasons. Jay will be getting the Communique and hopefully reading it. He might even attend an event or two or mention CORSA on his web site or his TV show (it could happen). He has already put a "good face" on Corvair ownership on his web site (no chin joke please). The other PR side is that we can all say that Jay is a "member" of CORSA to attract new members that do pay dues.
