I have one of those awards also. While pink isn't my favorite color, I certainly have no problem with the color. Is this really a big deal?

The reason we have this motion now is for the naming of the national awards. The Iowa awards were from a regional (or mini or whatever a "not the national convention" convention is called) and they could name their awards anything they wanted to name them.

I'm the proud owner of an autocross first place from the 2005 Iowa Regional. 
t has a pink "Donna Mae Mims Award" applique in the upper right corner. 
'm not a female and I have absolutely no problem with the color pink. 
here apparently was no need for a rule change when these were awarded in 
005.  So, why now?

s we all know we are trying to save time at banquets and we have so many 
wards now, we can't justify adding another award in.  There are many more 
ho have passed on ( I know...this was started when she was still alive)

All, Just a short note to clarify the DMM award. Bob Dunahugh has been 
romoting this award for several years now. The award will celebrate Donna's 
ccomplishments as a competitive Corvair driver, and give an added bonus to 
hose men or women placing first in IS-1,2,3, and 5 and the ladies classes. 
t is not meant to diminish the importance of the Don Yenko Award, just 
nhance the benefits of placing first in the aforementioned classes. The 
ward will be a Pink metal appliqué, 1/2" X 2" with the words "Donna Mae 
imms Award", added to the trophy, or plaque, or whatever the first place 
ward is. It can be removed if the person so wishes to. A petition was 
irculated at the 2007 performance workshop and 50 or so signatures were 
ollected in support of the award. The motion also has the support of the 
ompetition chair and his committee. It will be of no extra cost to CORSA 
or several years as Bob Dunahugh and another AutoX participant has 
enerously agreed to purchase 100 of the appliqués. It will require a change 
n the AutoX rules book. It has been determined that all present AutoX rules 
ooks are gone so a reprint is eminent. This will be the best time to change 
ny verbiage to the rule book. As all AutoX participants know a copy of the 
ule book is provided in the welcome packet at each CORSA International 
onvention for AutoX participants or can be found on the CORSA website.
