I am going to rise to the defense of Bob Dunahugh here, although I will
concede that his viewpoint was expressed in a somewhat clumsy manner,
creating the impression that he thinks Board business should be behind
closed doors.

It is thoroughly appropriate that issues being considered by the Board
be disseminated widely. However, the time for doing that is before a
motion is put forth for a vote. It was incorrect, in my view, to
disseminate widely the Board's ballot form.

But I will defend Scott Trunkhill, also, whom I believe is the one who
posted this ballot for all to see. He was, I am sure, just trying to
keep the Board actions transparent. It would have been more appropriate
to post a narrative explanation of where the process stood, rather than
posting the Board ballot. At the very least, it would have been more
appropriate to post a narrative accompaniment to the ballot, as most
CORSA members have never seen a Board ballot and could easily
misunderstand the reason for their having received it.

As a young man, I was part of a process that, despite all good
intentions, went badly. The situation was summed up in a pithy manner
by a more senior member of the organization, who stated simply, "the
problem stems from lack of thinking in the first place."

Finally, a more pointed remark: We are fiddling while Rome burns. God
Bless Donna Mae Mimms, but CORSA has far more important issues to face.
