Since the subject came up, I thought I would forward the very well written introduction to this list when it was created from Bob Marlow. Perhaps it will help spur some thoughts on where to go next.

> As you have now seen, we are up-and-running with a new e-mail list serving
> the representatives of Chapters of the Corvair Society of America. You are
> receiving this message because you are a chapter president, chapter
> officer, or chapter contact (as shown on the lastest Chapter Report Form
> submitted by your Chapter), or because your name was recommended to us.
>
> Who is "us?" We are an informal committee assembled at the request of
> CORSA President Sarah Jones, for the purpose of improving communication
> between and amongst CORSA and its chapters. This committee includes
> myself, the CORSA Chapter Plan Chairman, plus Executive Secretary Harry
> Jensen, and volunteers Bryan Blackwell, Alan Eggleston, Matt Nall, and Joel
> Rushworth.
>
> Harry, Bryan and myself will be administering this list; Alan, Matt and
> Joel are to be publicly thanked for their efforts in compiling, verifying,
> and editing the e-mail addresses that are being used, with a special thanks
> to Joel for spearheading the effort.
>
> However, this list is not "our" list, it is to be your list. Your list for
> sharing ideas and information on all matters relaed to chapter business,
> activities, events, concerns, and relationships. We're just the traffic
> cops, you are the drivers on this particular segment of the "information
> superhighway."
>
> Perhaps at first we should explain further why and how you have suddenly
> become a member of this new forum. As noted above, your e-mail address has
> been included because you are a chapter president, chapter officer, or
> chapter contact, as indicated by the most recent Chapter Report Form
> submitted by your chapters. Other persons have been included because they
> replied to requests on the Virtual Vairs list for appropriate chapter
> e-mail contacts. And still others have been included because they have
> been recommended to us by fellow chapter officers, CORSA directors, or
> other reputable sources.
>
> However, you don't have to remain on this list if you don't wish to. You
> may request that your name be removed from the list, and you may recommend
> others who may be suitable for inclusion. (We hope that you will choose to
> stay!)
>
> Because many of you on this list might be new to this type of forum, soon
> we will be posting information about e-mail "netiquette" and the basic
> guidelines for what is and is not considered appropriate for inclusion on
> this list. When these and the other "procedural" messages arrive, please
> read them and save the information for your future reference.
>
> Please be patient with this new forum. We anticipate a flurry of emails
> initially, but it should settle down after the first few weeks.
>
> It is our hope that this forum will prove to be a great means for sharing
> information and ideas among those of us who toil as volunteers on behalf of
> CORSA chapters everywhere, as well as a valuable tool for two-way
> communication between chapters and CORSA. Welcome aboard!
