Hello Everyone,
We hope you all had a nice holiday weekend and were able to enjoy at least
a little of it in your Corvair.
A few noteworthy things leading into the in person meeting this Sunday and
the newsletter next week....
- Yes! This Sunday we will be holding our first official post pandemic
in person meeting at Perk's Drive Thru in Lafayette. 10am. 3849 Mt Diablo
Blvd right next to the library. There will be a weekly cars & coffee
preceding our meetup. You are encouraged to attend that one too, if you'd
like. Perk's is a *cash only *establishment, so bring some green and
show them some support for hosting us!

- For those of you that cannot attend the in-person meetup, don't fret!
The zoom meetings aren't going anywhere. We will be still doing those on
the first Thurs at 7pm. If you haven't attended a zoom meeting, we talk
about a lot of everything, but *a lot* of tech.
- Club president Ray Welter is going to be moving his project Spyder to
his storage facility in Vallejo soon. Along with that, he is planning to do
an engine rebuild. If you want to help or learn more, send a message.
Details to follow...
- Club member Kevin Hightower (he has the electric conversion Spyder) is
moving to Charlotte NC and has a box of Corvair parts that he cannot take
and is giving away free to any member who may want/need them. Items
include: tail lights, blinkers, mirrors, boost gauge, possibly more. If
you're interested, drop him an email hightowk at gmail.com (located in
South Bay). We wish Kevin and his family the best on their new adventure!
- Club member Lane Davidson is going down to pick up a diff for his
Corsa. The gentleman selling him the diff also has some other Corvair parts
for sale. The list of parts is attached along with the seller's cell phone
number. If you see something you need, Lane will pick it up, but you will
have to pick it up at Lane's place in Castro Valley. Lane can be contacted
at (510) 329-0640 for more info.
- Want to learn how to rebuild a front suspension? This month, the CORSA
meetup covers this very topic with longtime CORSA/NTCA member and multiple
Cole award winner Mike Dobie. The meeting is on Thurs. Corsa members should
have received an email invite. If you are a CORSA member and have not
received the email, message Josh vondeitch at gmail.com and he will help
you out.
- Speaking of CORSA meetups, next month, our very own member from down
under, Carl Kelsen will be hosting the May CORSA meetup in his garage and
talking about his right hand drive conversion Monza. Those who have been
sitting in on the zoom meetings know quite a bit about Carl and this car,
but it will be great to see our fellow club member get to share his story
on the big stage!
- SFBA CORSA has a paypal account! If you want to pay your dues or send
over a contribution to help the club, you can do so by using this email
address to send money. sfbacorsa at gmail.com. When sending funds, make
sure to send to friends and family so paypal doesn't ding us with service
fees. Your dues and contributions go to covering the website, url fees,
newsletters, food at tech/sessions and misc expenses. We hope you get a lot
of value out of the club and we do appreciate every one of you.
Got an idea to make SFBA better? Send it over! We are always looking for
ideas, suggestions and *cough* volunteers *cough* to make SFBA CORSA the
best Corvair club around!
