<CORSA Chapters> Supplemental Corvair news and upcoming events

[SFBA CORSA]

Hello Everyone,

We have some important news that either missed the deadline for the last
newsletter or will not be pertinent for the next newsletter, so it's time
for an SFBA CORSA email supplement.

We are saddened to have to share the news that longtime SFBA member, Phil
Dalforno, recently passed. Many of you knew Phil, but for those of you that
never had the pleasure of meeting him, he was a really great guy with a
passion for Corvairs and an admiration for CORSA and, more specifically,
SFBA.

In fact, it was his wish that when he passed that his (owned since new)
1966 Corsa coupe would be donated to the club.  Clark and Josh went out to
visit Sandy Dalforno and look at the car. There will be more details on
this in the near future.

SFBA would like to send our sincerest condolences to Sandy, the Dalforno
family and Phil's friends.

We have three, yes THREE, upcoming FREE events for you to bring your
Corvair to. Can't bring your Corvair? That's ok. Come on out in some
inferior auto that will get you there so you can enjoy the company of like
minded folk and their beautiful Corvairs!


   - SFBA / Valley annual picnic at Quarry Lakes Park in Fremont. Aug 17th.
   10am to ??? Join us for our annual picnic with Valley at Quarry Lakes Park.
   $5 for parking No RSVP necessary.




   - Sterling Restorations 3rd Annual Open House Fairfield. Aug 24th.
   10am-3pm. Join us in visiting our friend and restoration guru, Gabe Lopez,
   at the 3rd Annual open house at Sterling Restorations in Fairfield. Please
   RSVP for this event so we can give an accurate headcount.

   - 3rd Annual Vairs at the Vault Sept 14th 10-4. Join us at the 3rd
   annual Vairs at the Vault in Napa. There will be food, drink, a tech
   session and a raffle. Bring a part, tool or piece of memorabilia to sell or
   trade. Event is free but this is also a fundraiser for SFBA CORSA so bring
   some money to bid on an auction item or make a donation. Please RSVP for
   this event so we can plan for food.
