Hello Everyone,
This is Cathy McCafferty from North Attleboro, MA and a member of the Bay State Corvair Club. I would like to receive information from CORSA or NECC regarding vendors for the 2012 convention to be held in Sturbridge, MA.
Speaking from a woman's perspective, it would be nice to have a variety of vendors at the 2012 convention, in addition to parts vendors, and in that respect I have been on the look out for artists or craftspeople that I think would be a good fit. I have been in contact with a woman who takes part every Wednesday in a farmer's market near where I work. This woman makes beautiful jewelry from Swa rovski crystal. Her jewelry is beautiful, unique, fun, eye catching and more importantly, affordable and she is very interested in being a vendor at our show. Every Wednesday for the past month or so, I visit her booth and her booth is by far one of the most popular booths at this little farmer's market. I bought a pendant from her two weeks ago and every single time I wear it I get lots of compliments on it, so much so that I just purchased the matching set of earrings.
I have also been in touch with a woman who is a photographer. Her photographs are primarily of New England and Massachusetts in particular. She also dabbles in other forms of artwork; namely, jewelry, tile painting, and Sharpie art, which is becoming very popular. Her photos are beautiful, her artwork unique and she is affordable. She would also be very interested in participating in our show.
Just for the record I would like to state that I do not know either of these women personally and have no connection to them whatsoever. These are two artists I have come across in my travels that I think would be a welcome addition as vendors at the convention.
I have other artists and craftspeople in mind as well, but as I mentioned above, I would like to receive some direction regarding vendors at CORSA conventions. For example, if an artist agrees to be a vendor at the convention, are they locked in for the four days? What is the fee to the vendor? Is it a one time fee or are they charged a daily fee? Will they be able to set up a table inside the hotel if they desire or are all vendors relegated to outside space? Will the hotel allow the vendors to set up inside the hotel? What roll does CORSA play when it comes to vendors other than parts or car related vendors? For example, does CORSA leave it up to the club(s) hosting the convention (i.e., NECC) to find vendors interested in participating?
I know that I, for one, would love to see a whole host of non-parts related vendors at the convention and I think it would prove to be very popular with the ladies (and the guys also) who attend the convention, not to mention all the visitor's to the convention.
I look forward to receiving your reply regarding "signing up" vendors who would like to be involved with the convention and the policy and procedure for doing do.
Thanks very much.
