CORSA 2012: 2010 Convention Vendors

Hi Bob,
That is sound thinking and I understand what you're saying, but have you ever
been to the Sturbridge Host Hotel?  I believe there is ample room and that
there should be no problem accommodating any vendors over and above the Corvair
vendors that typically attend the convention. While we were observing the Olds
Convention (which by the way had over 400 cars on display in the parking lot), I
ran across a jewelry/umbrella/fudge vendor in the hallway of one of the
entrances, just down the hall away from the large exhibit hall where I
believe we are planning for the Corvair Vendors to be housed. The vendor told
me they were there all week and they had done very well. They were inside, they
were out of the way, and there was so much more room available.

Also...
I was trolling a little online and came across this recent posting in an
Oldsmobile forum concerning the Olds Nationals there (in case there becomes a
need for extra trailer parking):

Travelodge Hotel in Sturbridge

Hey just a heads up, the Travelodge Sturbridge is run by car club guys and is
offering free trailer parking to anyone staying at the hotel. Only two miles
from the show location with a nice pool and free breakfast. 508 347 1978

A word of caution:

I agree wholeheartedly with Cathy's suggestion that we invite vendors
who may appeal to the spouses and/or to a wider total audience.

That said, I think we should endeavor to "hold" the space for Corvair
vendors, releasing available space to non-Corvair vendors only after
the Corvair-specific vendors have had a suitable period of time in
which to register.

Y'know, solicit the Corvair vendors at a certain point in time, and
then, X number of weeks or months later, make remaining space
available to non-Corvair vendors as well.

This, of course, may make planning somewhat less convenient for the
non-Corvair vendors, who are likely to have a relatively full
schedule of events at which they peddle their wares and for which
they likely sign up well in advance.  But I think we have to do it.
