To the Friends of Fitch:

Our Dear Friend, John, is doing miraculously well!

2 months ago, our 94 year old Friend,  was fighting for his life, against all odds.  Just 3 Days after he was Driving his Phoenix on The Track at Lime Rock, he suffered a collapsed lung.  Then the Thrush set in, and the worst happened.....the Pneumonia.  A Midnight transport to The Hartford Hospital, for more intensive care, proved to be the correct decision.....although in just a day after settling in....he was going through a very hard day....just too hard to bare any more.  The Family came, and the little toddler, Granddaughter Gwendolyn, and Grandchildren Mercedes and James came into Grandpa's room.....3 little Magic Wands!   He flew open his eyes, beam hugely and proudly.....and decided to stay here on Earth with us....a little longer.

Day to day....progress was made, and last Monday, he was without any health support, and functioning on his own, enough to be discharged from The Hartford Hospital, and returned back to his home neighborhood, for Re-hab at Noble Horizons, on Cobble Road, in Salisbury, Ct.

He has a beautiful, private room, and the entire residence is beautifully decorated for the Holidays.....and the meals are very good. John does not eat in his room as he prefers to get dressed, and meet some old friends, and make new ones at mealtime.

You can join him for dinner, at 5:30, or Lunch at 12:30, to just enjoy a cup of coffee and have a nice visit, if you would like. Arrive to his room 1/2 hour early to get his old bones ready, to bring him, (by wheelchair).  He is on the 2nd floor of the Main Building, room 20-1 at the end of the hallway. He is even visiting the Chapel, which is quite lovely and serene.  He is ready to have some changes in his life, so he is now sporting a GOTEE!

He is doing his re-hab, and complying with his program..........and we hope.......he will return to his Lime Rock Homestead in a matter of weeks.

And so.....he is just great!  Thank you all for your notes (that I print out and give him), your short visits, the very lovely Christmas gifts, and your good wishes.

He will be with us to see 2011!

My best to you and yours,

Terry
