Ray's idea of valve cover races to Friday is top notch. We'll move them. The actual number and times we run the races will be determined based on information from Wayne.

Hi Janis,
You asked about how long was planned for the event. You can pass this along to Wayne and Jon & Ginny Guignard. In an e-mail from Brian O'Neill dated 23 December 10, he has the Valve Cover Races slated for Saturday, July 28th from 11:30 - 12:30. That's why I said it wasn't enough time. It takes that long at the Dust-Off let alone a National Convention. Seeing Brian is copied here I'm making a suggestion that Brian consider rescheduling the Valve Cover Races to Friday, the 27th as the "Theme for Friday" is "Corvair Fun Day".. This is the day the other family fun events are scheduled like the Slow-Drag Races, the Back Seat Driver Contest, the Teeter-Totter contest, the Creeper Races, Fan Belt Toss and the Cylinder Barrel Skee-Ball. For those who brought children, adding the Valve Cover Races to the Friday schedule seems like a much better fit than Saturday, which is themed, "Corvair Show Day".. This is just a suggestion. I realize nothing is etched in stone yet.
Thanks for your time Janis. Ray 'B'
PS/ Sorry Kathy and I can't attend the CNHCA March 13th monthly meeting in Concord. It's the same day BSCC has our field trip to Wright's Farm Restaurant booked.

I will pass this on to Wayne and we will get back to you about times. How long have you got planned for? I think a beginners and and adult race would be good. We will discuss it and figure out some times. Talk soon, Janis and Wayne

Great points, Ray. If Wayne thinks it a good idea to run heats or have the Junior Division run at a different time, I'm sure we can get volunteers to guard the track. I think having races at different times will add to the excitement of the day.

Hi Brian / Hi Wayne
Wayne, I'll let you field this one as there's one big "unknown" here; how many people will participate? I'm sure you can come up with an approximate formula from the average number of folks you get at the "Dust-Off" and how long for X number of people to run a heat. I don't know about you but doing elimination heats at different times of the day leaves the track unprotected for unknown periods of time. What do you do with it in the meantime? Post a guard? It's too time consuming to dismantle it and set it up again and you don't want kids messing around with it. It's your call but I think it's better to just run the races. Another scenario is to post the Junior Division, (or whatever you would call it), at for instance 10:00 AM and Senior Division at say 12:00 noon. The Valve Cover Races are over and you can dismantle the track. I know Bob Brown offered to help you where ever he could. You are the expert here, it's your call. There's also the time before the 'Heats' where you help folks set up their new valve-cover racers. Should time be built in for that?
Missed you folks last Saturday. Ginny called Kathy and said you guys got 10-12" of the white stuff. You must be up near 100" of this crap by now. Think Spring. Hope you folks can make it down to our Annual Spring Brunch on April 17th. Watch the newsletter.
Best regards, Ray

Wayne & Ray;
At our last meeting Ray mentioned that our draft schedule doesn’t allow enough time. So, tell me how much time is needed. Also, how about we run elimination heats at different times during the day/ we could have a consolation group just as they do in local short track racing. Comments?
