Another way to look at it;
Old Cars Weekly has always been good to the Corvair as stated by other. I often find their handouts and gifts donated to local car clubs as gift bag stuffers.
It might be good ju-ju to place one ad 6-8-10 weeks out as a "thank you" for past and future support.
Maybe it could earn us long term placement in a "calendar of events" type column they run. Maybe someone there could see it and decide to cover the event as a feature story before or after.
Maybe another publication ie; Cronos, Classic Car, Grassroots, etc could see it and do a story before or after.
I constantly hear of Corvairs being bought right under my nose (2 in the last 6 weeks) form people near me that were not in the "Corvair Hobby" at all but were long time or multiple Corvair owners.
Maybe none of this will happen but it might just be good ju-ju.
One other thing I remember being very surprised at hearing. The number of Corvair owners that are Clarks' Corvair Parts customers in their data base, that are not involved in the official "Corvair hobby." See my last point above. (the number I heard was huge, something like 10,000 in a Corsa past/current members data base but 5 to 10 times that in Clarks "active customers" data base. I wonder if a business arrangement with Clarks should be worked out to barter convention space or greatly reduced fees, in exchange for tapping that data base. We could benefit by advertising with a full page insert about the convention sent out with their orders vfor months ahead, in the packet of pages we always get with each order. And the same in the pages that come out with their annual and seasonal price list up-dates. I know they "have" to pay to be at the convention, but I don't think we can "Pay" enough to tap that resource, but barter may open a large door we have
not been able to look into.
Just some ideas from a non-voting member.
