Tanks Tim for pointing this out.  I am having the same problem and I 
consider myself to be reasonably computer literate.  I just can't afford to 
upgrade right now.  Docx is from the newest Office product belonging to Windows 7 
which Microshaft is coercing everyone to buy.  Nothing older than 2008 
(hardware or software) is compatable with it.
 
I've been asked to evaluete spreadsheets which I cannot read.
