I think we need a home track with an annual event about the same time every year so we can re-build a regular event as a base.

I think we missed the boat by not signing up on a list for NJMP before they opened at their "Lightning" or "Thunderbolt" tracks in southern Jersey. (Thunderbolt seams to have a more challenging reputation but I keep hear they are booked up??)

I think we should sign up now to be on a list with a date time period(or time of year) for the track being built in upstate NY that Bruce Carlton talked about.

I also heard from Norm LaTulipe that Thompson Speedway has plans now to complete a road course by next year. I think we should get on their list too.

We can always let these dates go later if they can't work for us, but if we miss the start-up we could be boxed out for good.

How far south would you be thinking for an "Olympics"? We are have trouble dragging regulars from New England to the distant events. So we should seek a strong local commitment for this type of event, beforehand. (I think it's time to change the name to a "Corvair Triathlon.")

Folks,
I'm looking at having a formal NECCEXEC meeting in early December. Although I much appreciate you allowing me to continue as president through this year while we did the convention, it's time to get back to formalities. I'll look at the calender and propose a date.  In the meantime; please let me know your thoughts on activities for next year.  Possible options include but are not limited to another Corvair Olympics--maybe in the southeast--, local track events, and non-performance activities.  I would like to propose we all support Bay State's Show at Clark's next fall.  It could be a fun reunion for those of us who suffered through the hard work necessary to put on the convention.  Maybe Ray B. could set up an informal event either Friday evening before the show or Saturday evening.  Something to think about.
