CORSA 2012: Things we need to do #1

As promised, here's the first of the things we need to do messages.
As a money maker during the convention, we'll be raffling off three items. The first is a quilt showing pictures of Corvairs (remember my call for pix of cars?). The quilt is being made by Mrs. Connie Sorensen of Nebraska. I've seen others she has done and they're great. The size is for a twin bed but it can be used as a throw or a wall hanging. Our hospitality folks need to find a way to dispaly the quilt in the hospitality room.
The other items to be raffled off are signed models of both the Fitch Phoenix and the Fitch Sprint (late model). The Phoenix model was released last year to wide acclaim. The company that made it is currently working on the Sprint model. I have the Phoenix model they donated and they promise I'll have the Sprint one in plenty of time for the convnetion. These models cost about $200 each. They will be raffled off as separate items. They also need to be displayed in the hospitality room but the hospitality folks need to figure out a way to protect them. We don't want them handled by everyone. I'll bring the Fitch model with me to the Feb 18th meeting so everyone can get a look at it.
So, the jobs for the hospitality room folks are to figure display setups and sell tickets for these raffles. A way to keep the tickets separate will be needed.
As soon as Mrs. Sorensen sends me the picture of the quilt, I'll post it so it can go on our blog. (Al Lacki--should we include this raffle info in a future Communique submission?)
Although only the hospitalit folks are directly affected by this, I'm sending it out to all so we are all aware of what's happening.
Only 201 days to go!
