The first issue is how to get the Fitch Phoenix to Sturbridge. Here's the story.
The car is currently in a shop near Lakeville with an unknow but reportedly bad engine noise. The guy who owns the shop wants it gone and deosn't want to work on it. I've spoken to John and his son Steve and they are in full agreement wiht us putting it ondispaly at the convention. I told them that I would take the car back to NJ wiht me after the convnetion and fix it. The problem now is one of transport.
My plan was to leave my house on Monday morning in my truck with my CORSA convert in the trailer. My wife and two grandsons will be with ne. The oldest one is driving one of Tim Schwartz cars up to the convention. Becasue our indoor vendor coordiantor cannot be there I need to be on site at the host hotel early Tuesday morning. So, that precludes me from going down to Lakeville to get the Phoenix. Even if I did, I still need to get it to NJ after the convention.
The best option I can come up with is for someone in the CT or MA area to go get the cat, bring it to the convention and then store it for a week until I can come back up the next weekend to get it. This would require a trailer--can be an open one. I would bring one with me the following weekend.
Any ideas, help, input is greatly appriciated. Johb's 95th birthday is in early August and I want to be able to tell him that the car was at the convnetiona nd that I got it and am fixing it.
The other BIG issue is the teeter totter. The trailer that came with it is unsuitable for any long distance travel. We are klooking for one--has to be 87 inches wide. A standard open car traile is only about 83 inches wide. While we search for one here; I thought that maybe someone in the CT or MA area knows of a car club that owns one that we could rent. Let me know.
