As I was driving back from Sturbridge yesterday, my thoughts naturally
were on the convention. This wasn't unusual as I always review NECC
events as I drive home. Most times I review how things went; what we
could have done better; and possible changes for future. This time was
different. My thoughts were on you, those who made this convention a
success. I thought of all the time you have given over the last two
years and how you unselfishly passed up opportunities to actually see
convention activities in order to work. I thought of all the laughs we
have had and how close we have become.
It is difficult to find the words to describe my respect and admiration
for you. It is also impossible to tell you in words how proud I am to
call you all my friends. Two years ago at our first organizational
meeting, I said that our primary goal for the convention was that at the
end we were still all friends and still laughing. I think we archived
this.
I know at times I was probably curt with you or in some other way was
less than gracious. I admire you all even more for excusing my behavior
if it ever upset you. I know you knew my goal was a successful
convention and you forgave much.
I hope we always stay friends. You will always be in my heart. Thank you
for everything.
