CORSA 2012: Lady's Colonial Cap

 Here are easy dirctions to make a Colonial Lady's Cap for the ladies working at the convention to wear.  It will compliment the men's three corner hats.  It can be make in white, off white or any other color desired.  If you have any questions, please e-mail me.  If you are not a sewer and would like one,  arraignments can be make. Marian RyallCTCorsa  Colonial Lady's Cap   Materials: Hat ½ Yard of Percale, Muslin or Linnen.31” Herringbone Twill tape 1/4” width43” of ½” Bias tape45” of 5/8” laceBow 11” of 5/8” Satin ribbon w/picot edgeSmall brass pin Directions: Hat1. Fold material in half and place pattern on fold or make a 14.5 inch diameter circle. Cut one piece. 2. Put the right side of the lace with flat edge on outside of circle on the right side of the cap. Bast ¼ inch from edge. Over lap ends of lace ¼ inch and sew together.  3. Turn to wrong side so lace forms outer edge and press. Sew hem down with a zigzag stitch on top side. 4. Place bias tape on casing line which is 1/2 inch from edge and fold each end under ½ inch leaving ¼ inch between ends to make opening where lace overlaps , then sew both sides of tape.  5. Use pin to pull twill tape through casing. Pull ends and tie to fit head. BowCut ribbon to 11 inches and tie into a bow. Pin to front of cap.
