To All CORSA/NC Members,

We are working on the next issue of the `Vair Heels and we need your help. We need articles from CORSA/NC members.

We sent out a request to about 10 members a few weeks ago and asked them to fill out the "Getting To Know Your CORSA/NC Members" form. This would allow us to have a back log of these articles on hand so we would not have to send out a request for this information every month. As of now, we have not received any of them back. We are trying hard to provide a quality newsletter for CORSA/NC but we cannot do it alone. We need your help.

For those of you that do contribute we want to say a big thank you and we want to let you know that we really appreciate your time and effort. You certainly make our job as editors easier.

The 'Vair Heels is CORSA/NC's newsletter for all of CORSA/NC, not just the larger clubs. Consequently, we would like to hear more about what is going on in each local club so we could pass it along to the rest of CORSA/NC. When we started editing the 'Vair Heels, the articles we received were good but now input from local clubs has slacked off.

If you feel your local club is not doing all that much right now, then how about writing about the activities of the individual members? Are some of you getting together and doing car projects? Are you working on your Corvair by yourself? This kind of information would make good articles. Perhaps some of you think that an article needs to be long and detailed. They do not. They can be short and sweet or long and technical. It does not matter, whatever works best for you. We frequently hear that members would like to see more technical articles in the 'Vair Heels. There is an easy solution to that. Write one and send it in. As large as CORSA/NC is and with as many experienced members as we have, there are many technical subjects that could be written about. Here are a few suggestions; dual brake master cylinder installation and benefits, different carburetors for Corvairs, fuel injection systems and their benefits, air conditioning installation, different wheel and tire combinations for Corvairs, maintenance tips, installation of electric fuel pumps, installation of disc brakes, tips on preparing your car for a show, etc. And don't worry about spelling, grammar, sentence structure or anything else. We are not perfect, but as editors we will do everything that we can to help you out when we edit your article. If you have photos that you would like to include with your article that is very helpful. Everyone likes to see photos to have a better understanding of exactly what you are writing about. It makes the reader feel like he is there with the author. If you do not have a scanner, you can always send the photos to us through the US Mail. We will return any photos and newspaper clippings that you send to us if you want them back.

Please give this some serious consideration. CORSA/NC is about 145+ members strong and if we only hear from 10% of you each month we would have a very full newsletter with many diverse and interesting articles. >From talking with newsletter editors from other clubs, we know that getting articles from members is a common problem and is not specific to CORSA/NC. But it should not be this way. CORSA/NC is a large and diverse club with many talented and experienced members. As we have said many times before and are saying again, the 'Vair Heels is YOUR newsletter and everyone in CORSA/NC needs to step up to the plate and start to be more active in it. Don't sit back and wait on someone else to send an article in each month. Do your part. There is a saying that says "You can either be part of the problem, or you can be part of the solution". Which part are you?
