I just received a letter form the person who administers car club participation for the Autofairs. I have a questionnaire to fill out and I'd like to discuss it at the meeting on Monday.
 
I also found out that our allotment of tickets has changed to 40 on Saturday and 20 on Sunday. The number of trophies has dropped from 10 to 8. That is obviously a reflection of our participation (or lack of same) over the past few years. I realize that the weather often affects the number of participants and Sunday last Spring was a disaster, but I think the numbers are representative of our participation over the last few years.
 
I know that questioning the allotment will be counterproductive and will harm our relationship with the Speedway. The way to get more tickets will be to use all the tickets we are given and then request more when we really need them and will use them. I'm sure they are tired of our requesting more tickets and then not using them.  They expect us to show up rain or shine. They are getting 3 or 4 more clubs every year and there is a lot of competition for the best locations. The best locations will be given to the clubs who can do the most for the Speedway which means attract spectators.
