To all Corvair Enthusiast,
Would you like to attend the Food Lion, AutoFair Car Show, scheduled for Saturday, April 9th and Sunday, April 10th at the Charlotte Motor Speedway? If so, do we have a great deal for you! These tickets are only $10 per car and can be bought by anyone that would like to bring their Corvair or a Corvair powered vehicle to a HUGE car show. This is a Queen City Corvair Club hosted car show and all of the Queen City members would love for more of our friends from, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia and any other surrounding states that would like to join us to come up for a fun filled two days. With the economy being like it is now, we have to find shows like this that we can afford to go to. So order your tickets (again only $10) from Clare Shepard, pack a cooler with food and drinks if you want to save ever more money by not eating at the Speedway, pack up your lawn chairs and join the Queen City members on Saturday, April 9th and Sunday, April 10th at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
The Queen City Corvair Club has a "Premium" spot on Pit Road where we will be parking all of the Corvairs in attendance on these two days AND you can not beat the price anywhere! The cost of the ticket for this event is only $10 per car, and can only be used to drive your Corvair into the Speedway. Then after entering the Speedway you must park your Corvair with all of the other Corvairs on Pit Road. Your $10 ticket will get you, your Corvair and one friend into the speedway for both Saturday and Sunday. If you can only attend one of these two days, just let Clare Shephard know which day you will be attending. Please keep in mind your Corvair does not have to be a show car to bring out to the Speedway. It can even be a "Work-In-Progress" car. The gates to the Speedway open on Saturday at 6:30am. At this time the Queen City members will arrive and set up a tent where you can sign in, get a number for your car, a voting ballet and get your parking spot. On Saturday afternoon after all of the voting ballets have been collected and added up, club president Monty Beaver announces the winners and passes out awards. All day long we will be selling 50/50 tickets and Queen City merchandise. The 50/50 winner will be announced when the trophies are passed out on Saturday and then right before going home on Sunday. If you attend the show on Saturday, but can not come back on Sunday but you would like to participate in the 50/50 drawing for Sunday purchase your 50/50 tickets before leaving Saturday, write your name and phone number on the back of your tickets and we will call you to get your address and mail your money to you if you are the lucky winner.
Keep in mind, this is a family event and there is always plenty of things to do for men, women and children. This includes parts vendors, food vendors, craft tents for the ladies and some toys for the kids just to name just a few. There is also a car auction there if you have a car you are interested in selling or maybe you are in the market to purchase a car. Most important of all though are all of the beautiful cars that will be on display with most every make, model, style and color you can think of. If you have never attended AutoFair before this will be a real treat for you. If you would like to purchase a ticket or if you have any questions contact Clare Shepard at 704-554-6769 or e-mail sshepard3 at hotmail.com. Remember bring your car out early both days because the Speedway does go around and do a physical count of each club to ensure we are filling all of our spots. To order tickets and ensure that Clare has time to mail them back to you, she must have a check made out to the Queen City Corvair Club in her hands no later than April 2nd. This will ensure we get our same spot each time. Also remember to bring your lawn chair to sit in. After you walk around and see everything there is to see, you'll look forward to getting back to your chair for a break.
