We have a really good Christmas story to relate concerning one of our own - 
Jeff Barrett of the NC Mountain Corvair Club.
Jeff has always been a very active member and a tireless volunteer with a 
ready hand to help with projects, i.e. the first "'Vairs in the Valley" show 
would not have happened without Jeff's leadership. But Jeff is going many 
steps forward in his latest endeavor - he is donating one of his kidneys to 
his nephew, Alan Taylor, on January 7, 2014.
After many months of going back and forth to Chapel Hill for testing and 
consultations - Jeff was given the green light as a match for his nephew, 
who has been on the transplant list.
Jeff and Toni will go to Chapel Hill on New Year's Day with pre-op the next 
day. He will be admitted to the hospital on January 6 and surgery will be on 
the 7th. They will have to stay in the Chapel Hill area for several weeks 
for follow up appointments, etc. so they may not get home till January 26.
We all wish Jeff and Alan the best! Please keep them in your prayers and 
send good thoughts their way.
We will provide updates on their progress as we hear from Jeff and Toni.
