[FC] Re: <VV> Putting an Early Turbo Dash into a PG FC

GM did make a prototype, but from all the information that I was able to
gather about 15 or 20 years ago it was only on paper. A clock was supposed to
go in the hole that usually had the boost gauge. A lot of discussion
supposedly was had at Chevrolet and it was decide that the Spyder would only
be a turbo charged model and that they wouldn't try to make another complete
line out of it as was done with the Monza. Can't verify how much of this is
truth and how much is conjecture, but this is what I was told at a CORSA
convention by someone that was supposedly "in the loop".....
I have seen Spyder dashes cut to accommodate the automatic shifter in cars,
but never in a FC. I don't see why it couldn't be made to work since
everything is the same in both as far as the shifter mechanism is concerned.
Making the lens shouldn't present much of a problem either...... plastic is
relatively easy to work with and it isn't like there is a tolerance that needs
to be adhered to ........ Paul in CT

Yes. I have one in the garage. I was told it was a factory protoype. I'll
take a closer look if you're interested.
