[FC] steering box

Hi Everyone

I noticed an odd snapping sound coming from my steering
box. Just right of center it makes a sound like a metal
jar lid when you first twist it open... you know, that
bump that popping fresh seal?

Anyway, on further investigation it looks to me like a
piece of the mounting plate for the box has come
unwelded. I'm trying to determine if the triangular
piece of metal plate ( oriented on a horizontal plane
with the point towards the front bumper) was supposed to
be spot welded into place. By rocking the steering wheel
left and right I can see the box move a bit and this
mounting plate move with it.

I've looked in the manual and the assembly manual but
can't quite figure out how it is supposed to be. If
anyone is willing to take a look for me, I can send a
photo to show the piece I'm talking about.
