[FC] Door won't close

I have the same problem with the passenger door.

Before I removed the striker plate to paint the van there was no problem.
The striker plate was cracked, so I replaced it. After everything was put
back together, and new door gasket installed, I have a problem getting the
door to latch like it did before being disassembled. It will fully latched
if slammed very hard. I have tried adjusting the striker plate and hinges,
but I still have the problem of getting the door to fully close easily and
still line up with the body. I had no problem with the left door, except
did have a broken spring in that one.

What is the trick to getting a door adjusted?

The spring in the latched is not broken.

I have a similar problem on the new edition to the family (62 rampy). The
passenger door will latch once but not all the way closed. You can pull on
the door and it will open some, leaving a big gap. I am guessing that there
was a "safety" built in or is this an adjustment problem.

Also on the rear gate and ramp the latches are worn and really hard to get
open. I removed one last night and noticed that the rivet that holds the
handle on is almost broken off. I thought about running a tap into the
handle and putting in a screw. Has anybody done this, and how well did it
work. On the ramp I am missing the front latch (have just the plate that
bolts to the ramp), does anybody have a replacement or parts to repair?
