     Michael,  moving the seal back sixty thousandths is too much, it may
rub on the gear flange. If your hub is not grooved, no shim will be
required. In order to check the exact location, put some Prussian blue on
the hub, install the bell housing and seal with the gasket, and see where
the lip of the seal is resting. I think the maximum base gaskets I could use
for shims was two.
      Also, if you have a micrometer, I would check the hub, it should be
3.000. If it is more than .010 undersize, I would install the repair sleeve
suggested by Terry. These are available at most Auto parts houses, a bit
pricy, but necessary. Beats pulling the crankshaft, and installing another
hub. I have a Car Quest number for this repair sleeve,  #99298
