[FC] instrument panel question

On a '65 vert that I am taking parts off of I do not have the keys. In
taking the door apart I got the lock out and noticed some ink stamped
numbers on the lock. Are these the numbers that I need for a new key so I
can save the ignition switch?

You need the ignition key to remove the lock cylinder first and then you can
finish unscrewing the bezel nut. Put the ignition key into the lock
cylinder
and turn it to the left as far as it will go. Then depress the release
button
by pushing a paper clip into the small hole on the lock cylinder face.
While
doing this, continue to turn the key to the left and the cylinder will pop
out. Reverse the directions to reinstall the cylinder, however it is not
neccessary to push the plunger in again.... While you have the lock cylinder
out, if you look on the side of it, you will see the key number is stamped
into the cylinder. Record this number in the event that you ever loose the
key........ Paul in CT

When I got my '61 Greenbriar a month or so ago, it came with the back
filled
with spare parts. One of the spare instrument clusters is in much better
shape
than the one installed, and I'm trying to take it completely apart to swap
switches, etc. I'm down to the ignition switch, and I can't figure it out.
I
have the outer bezel loose, and the inner retaining ring loose, but the
outer
bezel doesn't fit over the key slot housing. There's a little pin hole in
the
face, and I tried poking it with a wire (I can feel a spring loaded
something
inside) and pulling or twisting, but I can't remove the key slot bezel.
What's
  the trick?
