the newer fc shift lever is very close to car unit. in fact i think i shortened the throw up bu using taller housing from 3spd car. i also had the lever chrome plated. it has the spring and balkl arrangement with a cup shaped steel piece bayoneted into slots in housing....as i remember it. will look asap. regards tim colson
