You need only enough room to slip a fan belt between the balancer and the
mount.

If you can't get a '64 mount, I don't think that is a problem. I just
examined the 'dish' of a loose '64 mount and it is less than 1/8", a 3/8"
washer just filled the space between the dished area and a straight-edge.

So, you probably need only one washer (two at most) to get enough clearance
for the belt. BTDT.
