[FC] door handle & mechanism differences. std vs deluxe.

My ramp has the deluxe padded trim on the front doors. The right door handle
fell off and I see the splines in the handle and in the internal mechanism
are badly worn. I see clarks used parts catalog lists these, but indicates
the handle and the mechanism are different between deluxe and std version
vehicles.  Can someone explain the differences.  If I can't find a deluxe
one, can a std handle and mechanism be modified to work?.
