[FC] Valve cover oil leak = O-RINGs defective ?

How "Big" a job it is depends somewhat on how big a job you make of it. For
me it was a simple oil change which took me 12 hours to complete. Your
results should be much less. I also removed the oil pan, and oil cooler to
replace these gaskets as well.
I have an inground lift so I raised the van so I could sit on my wheeled
chair to maneuver around underneath. I removed each of the mufflers on my
dual exhaust, removed lower shrouds, and did the seals.
Of course I am very anal-retentive so valve covers and shrouds went through
the parts washer, then sandblasted clean and painted. I also cleaned all of
the push rod tubes, push rods, rockers etc with brake cleaner.
I used the cold method for adjusting valves and it worked perfectly. This
is the first time for me as I had always previously done the job using the
"hot" method........never again.

While apart I found 3 bent pushrods but had plenty of spares on hand. I
also had all the required gaskets on hand so I didn't have to order
anything.
I could have done this job in a hurry in probably 3 hours, but I took my
time and a few beers in the afternoon and am happy with the results.

Gary, how big a job was that "O" ring change? I've only ever done that
with the engine on the Engine Stand.
      Thanks, Paul C.
