it is easier and better to take it out and do it right the first time. if it was only one cly ..maybe but still not a good way to do it. if rings are that bad i would want to check bearings and all (guides etc)also. how about building another engine then swapping it out? if yours still runs enough to use.... regards, just MY thoughts..tim colson
