Hello Mike,

I had previously received a message from someone who was running 215/75R14 
tires and they had no problems.  From what I have been able to research so 
far the original 7.00-14 6- or 8-ply tires must have been about 26.75 to 
27.1" in diameter.  This is almost the same size as the 215/75R14 at 26.8 
dia (TireRack - Goodyear Integrity).  Just watch that the minimum rim size 
for this tire is 5.5" wide.  It would be best to put them on a set of 14X6 
wheels with a 3-3/4" back spacing from a mid '80's RWD GM G-body car.

If you go with new wheels you might want to consider 215/70R15's on 15X6 
wheels.
