I've used a sandblaster in the past; it takes a careful hand to have an even
finish. A little "hard spot" of paint can result in the surrounding area
getting a depression while blasting off the paint. I'm considering using some of
the new paint removers; I've used them on small projects with good results.
Possibly a combination of the two processes would provide the best results; get
the majority of the paint off with chemicals (and a wire cup wheel), and then
clean up with a sandblaster for a smooth finish. I'm going to start on my "new"
rampside in the next week or so. I plan to experiment on the inside of the bed
first...since I'm going to paint it with a bedliner material, anyway (tinted
to match the original dark gray).
