well about the glaze it really shouldn't be used unless you get the two part
glaze. primer will be cured in 24 hrs. we even use heat lamps to cure it out
in 45 min. the best to use is epoxy primer on all bare metal. use 320 grit
paper first then come back over with 400 grit.

Subject: [FC] more about body and paint....

Hi all! Thanx for the advice!

I have done some more shopping around and found that two local respected body
shops would paint the car if I did all the body work and prep. If my work
didn't meet their standards, they would tell me to get it right!

They both suggested using urethane primer over glazing compound, wait about a
week before sanding smooth for the primer to really harden.

One uses Dupont and the other uses Sikkens. Both will use any other paint if
I
request it.

After working on my 53 GMC, I am quite confident that I can do a decent prep
job. Just hafta wait for the 20 C (72 F) days to return. (Sigh)
