[FC] FC Roof Panel Removal

Dell........ thanks for the offer.... I have the assembly manual, but in
reality, I know that the factory didn't always follow the procedures in the
manual. My dilemma is to remove the roof panel without disturbing the contour
of the roof, so it can be glued on. To this end, I am looking for any
assistance by anyone that has done this or attempted to do this in the past.
I want to learn from their successes and failures of what to do an not do. If
I had an abundance of FC's, I would do a dissection of one and then do the
final removal of the one that I was going to use. I almost have a feeling
that I am going "where no one has ever been in the past"..... LOL..... thanks
and please keep the suggestions coming. Every little bit helps. I remember
someone telling me at one time, that Bob Marlow had done this once, but I
can't find his telephone number to call him. Thanks again........ Paul in CT

I don't have my assembly manual here Paul but maybe someone that does can
help...I won't be back until Monday and I am sure you'll have an answer by
then but if not, send me a fax number and I can fax it...or maybe I can get
one of the kids to scan it in for you!

I believe that this has been discussed before, but I can't find when or
  where.
I have to replace the roof panel on my FC because someone had cut a giant
  hole
in the middle to make it into a pop up camper. I have examined the
assembly
manual and it appears that the roof panel is glued down and has some spot
welds in the corners. Has anyone ever removed a roof panel before? I have
examined the FC closely and I find that the panel ends at the roof gutters.
  I
have been told that the bolts that appear to be holding it down won't help
  you
to remove it if they are removed. Does anyone know how the factory
  installed
the roof panel. I only have one donor FC and don't want to destroy the
roof
in an attempt to remove the roof panel. Any and all suggestions are
  welcome.
Does anyone have a junker that they could cut a wedge out of the roof to
examine how it was done? Thanks..... Paul in CT
