 I just measured 2 of my early style throw out bearings and they both measure 
at 1 7/16". My late model bearings measure at 1 5/16". 
    You say you are converting to a 4 speed but everyone needs to know what 
year flywheel you are going to use. 
    It will be either the flat 60-63 early style or the late 64-69 stepped 
style. Then you also need to have the correct pivot ball for the year flywheel 
you are using. The pivot ball that has 3/16" thick wrench flats goes with the 
flat, early style flywheel and the pivot ball that has 1/8" thick wrench flats 
is for use with the stepped, late style flywheel. 
    Each style is a system and the parts are not interchangeable. This goes 
for the pressure plate also, the flat finger PP goes with the early and the 
raised finger PP goes with the late style.
    I think Lon Wall has answered you once about parts availability and I 
have in stock what I state above.
