sounds like over flow pipe about 1/4 in dia  welded to bottom of burner can 
hooks to rubber hose to get raw gas away from heat. it comes out just by the 
front edge of the body.  by the way  , todays big hint: if your heater does not 
fire and has gas smell try injecting air into this tube. it may disturb any 
carbon shorting the plug gap. it has worked a few times for me on cars. i check 
for spark real quick by holding a neon bulb by the plug  then if gas smell put 
the air to that drain...or even put some up the exhaust pipe.. it will 
usually make it work.    see ya.   tim colson
