[FC] Replacing lifters

Bob,
No question is stupid. Yes,  you can remove the lifters without  removing the 
heads. BUT..........
 
Why are you doing this? Sometimes the lifters hang up and are hard to  
remove, so a tool is desireable for this purpose (Northern tool supply sells one  
for about $25).
