[FC] Update on my brake problem

Your parking brake operates independently of the wheel cylinders. Let out
the tension on the cable so there is no takeup on the pad part of the
mechanism. Then adjust the rear shoes manually with the adjusting wheel so
that they juuuuuuuust begin to touch the drums when it they are spun. (Had
your drums turned lately? If not, you may have a rather large lip on the
leading edge of the drum, making it difficult or impossible to get the drum
on/off when the shoes are properly set) Now adjust the tension on the
parking brake cable. CORSA Concours says the parking brake should be at
full lock by the fouth click of the handle. The only reason your parking
brake would not work, would be improperly set up pads, and this could also
be (at least part of) the cause of your other brake problems.

Regards,
Joel

Subject: [FC] Update on my brake problem

I think I figured it out, but thanks to everyone who offered their two
cents.
I realized that my hand brake has to be pulled almost out to the steering
wheel to engage; so I think that the MC just can't push enough fluid to
engage
the pads (hence having to "pump up the brakes"). I ordered a brake superkit
from
Lon, it's probably overdue for all the brakey stuff, anyway. I would have
thought the dual MC would have at least engaged the front brakes, but then
again
I have that forever bubbling while bleeding rt front wheel (bad wheel
cylinder?). So, both front and back were going bad at the same time for
different
reasons; or so I think.
