[FC] RE: Corvanatics Digest, Vol 13, Issue 19

Hello gang; On the Lakewood, it sounds so much like the '61 that I found
near Kalamazoo, MI last fall. I was driving down the road and this black
beauty whistled at me so I had to pull off and run over to take a look.
Before I knew it I had made an offer and the car was mine. Wife wasn't too
pleased but I'm (still) working on that. The car had sat for some time, not
started bug some work done, such as redoing the gas tank (it was still out
of the car so had to start the car by pouring gas down the throat of the
carbs), brakes needed to be totally redone, but the car ran nice and other
than the headliner(mice had taken up residence above the driver's side
visor) the interior was in great original shape. The body is in excellent
condition other than a poor repaint job some years ago. The car is now up
and running well with new tires, brakes and fuel system. I really like
those little station wagons and hope you enjoy yours, assuming that you do
go ahead and buy it. Steve By the way is there anyone on the site who
knows where a person can find a standard tranny for a 49-50 full size Chevy,
preferably in or near Michigan? Many thanks!
