If you look at the back of the Spyder dash, you can see the outline of where Chevrolet had made a provision for adding it to automatic transmission cars. I have seen some people cut out this and install the shifter there...... Paul in CT

I just finished doing this. and in a Power Glide. Installing the PG shift
lever is difficult because the rim of the Spyder dash is thicker than a
standard dash . requires some thin spacers and a little of filing on the
metal dash itself. But it works great. Installed an electric pressure
guage and an oil temp guage in the two spyder holes that formerly were the
boost guage and the head temp guage. Used AutoMeter 1 1/2" guages that fit
perfectly.. Made a pod (similar to the spyder pod, for the ww switch and a
SPST switch. Used two oil temp senders, one in the engine pan and one in
the automatic tranny pan. The STDT switch toggles back and forth between the
senders and reads out in the single guage. Had to add some extra lights
and wires for the additional indicators, but the speedo and gas gauges
  worked fine.
WORKING UNDER An FC dash is no fun.
  George
