I used a Corvair Underground windshield rubber which fit perfectly on the 
windshield that came with the van... likely a replacement windshield as it 
has no pits... fits perfectly.

I'm going to differ here.  It is my understanding that the current
replacement glass is slightly smaller than the original, and there are some
issues with the gasket fitting properly in the corners.

Shawn Sirna, who I believe is on this list can confirm.

 I've installed three FC front windshields (all used) using the exact  same
gasket with the exact same results. I don't think it's the glass.
