[FC] Re: Clutch Problem

I was apparently awake enough when I put in the clutch disc. It was in correctly. Yes I installed a pilot bushing. I don't know what year engine but I put my 61 FC bell housing on it. I did not change the pivot ball. I have the flat flywheel and flat fingered pressure plate. I took it out today and discovered I do apparently have the wrong throw out bearing. According to the parts catalog I sould have the longer one. The new clutch disc is actually thinner than my old one. I believe the combined difference in these two parts is what is causing my problem.
What should the pivot ball measure? The throw out bearing was wrong, I'd like to confirm the pivot ball as well. Thanks to all who replied.

We need more info.

Did you install a pilot bushing?

What year is the engine? And what was in it before?

What year is the bellhousing?

Did you change the clutch fork pivot ball? Which may have been necessary if
you were going from an EM motor to a Late.

Regards,
Joel
