[FC] heater boot

What kind of options does one have for the heater boot that goes from the firewall to the blower box?  I have had one on order for almost a year now and no insight as to when or if it will be made and shipped.  All of the control cables are also being held up on this.
I am hoping to get this thing running and will need heat.  Any suggestions?  I have thought about having one made out of leather.
