Hi All:

During the summer time I replaced the shift shaft on
my 63 and happen to notice that there was alot of wear
in the shift shaft due to the shift lever ball. The
ball on the end of the shift lever in out of round. I
believe that it was played with or repaired at onetime
but I would hate to replace the shift shaft again. I
was thinking of replaceing the ball by welding on a
new one, well say something from McMaster Carr. Has
anyone done this before or something different than
welding one on. Maybe a mechanical fasting of drilling
a hole through a new one then tapping a hole on the
shift lever? Any Ideas.

Thanks
