"... A worn rear brake shoe on one side can very often be caused by a  
sticking 
parking brake cable (the short one between the wheel and the main  
cable).  Check them out for proper operation..."

 




Or a brake hose with the inner liner coming loose... acts like a check  
valve: allows brake fluid, upon brake application, to travel to the wheel  
cylinder, but, upon pedal release, little or no fluid can travel back towards  the 
master cylinder. The result is the shoes on the affected wheel never  fully 
release. There is no way to tell if a hose has internally failed by simply  looking 
a the hose.
